[Doc] Enable AWS EC2 migration with new provider
Title: Enable AWS EC2 Migration with New Provider (MTV-2744)
The MTV system currently lacks the ability to migrate Virtual Machines (VMs) from AWS EC2 to OCP on AWS EC2. To address this, we are developing a new provider for MTV that will facilitate the migration of EC2 VMs. This involves extensive coding and testing to ensure seamless integration.
The progress is currently blocked by the dependency on the resolution of MTV-2744, a related issue. Simultaneously, we are selecting a suitable Terraform provider for the new AWS service to ensure compatibility with our existing codebase and the new provider's services.
The overall purpose of this Jira story is to enhance MTV's functionality by enabling migration of EC2 VMs from AWS, thereby improving the system's versatility and efficiency. Regular updates will be provided as the selection process for the Terraform provider progresses. The fix version for this task is 2.10.0.
Today, the MTV does not allow migration of VMs from AWS EC2 to OCP on AWS EC2.
MTV should have a way to import EC2 VMs from AWS.
