There were two suggestions on how to fix the disk corruption in MTV-1656.
- One solution was to wait for the consolidation to finish before creating a new snapshot. This would be much safer but the migration could take longer time. So we were thinking about an alternative option as with the warm migration we want as low downtime as possible.
- The second solution was to disable the consolidation of the snapshots and consolidate once the VM migration finishes as the last step. This was implemented in PR. However chhu@redhat.com was able to find an issue with this flow.
This spike issue is to investigate what caused the issue and if we still can use the disabled consolidation.
