During the release of MTV 2.0.0 and 2.1.0, we have encountered performance issues with large scale environments. And the fixes are fairly small patches because we were in the last phase of the release process and couldn't afford architectural changes.

Since MTV is expected to migrate thousands of virtual machines for large scale customers, or at least to allow users to assess their virtualization platform and migrate some of their virtual machines, it needs to provide an efficient and smooth user experience for inventory, validation and plan creation.
