Observability Operator creates are resources using server-side apply. The intention behind this was to easily customize OBO deployments. The operator only claims ownership of resource fields, that it sets.

This leaves various options for users or other operators customizing the resulting Prometheus object. Adding for example labels is straight forward. More complex customizations involved adding additional containers to implement, say authz/authn.

The goal of this epic is to explore what can be achieved with this and produce some examples of customizations, that users might be interested in.
