To follow the Kubernetes API conventions, the Prometheus status subresource needs to report an observedGeneration field with the conditions. It will help the observability operator to detect whether or not the conditions are up to date.

There's already an issue in upstream Prometheus Operator and a PR trying to provide a fix.
