      1. Proposed title of this feature request
Extending OCS monitoring to support partner storage platforms

      2. What is the nature and description of the request?
The OCS team are in discussion with IBM to enable OCP clusters to to connect to OCS and IBM external storage arrays. The overall goal is to promote the same 'look-n-feel' as OCS, so the user can expect a consistent experience from the monitoring of capacity, performance and health data.

      3. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)
This is a joint venture to extend the reach of OCS, beyond Ceph, to incorporate other platforms that customers may already have or seek to deploy which may deliver performance advantages or better align to customer deployment patterns.

      4. List any affected packages or components.
The general idea is that the 3rd party platform's operator would be deployed inside the openshift-storage namespace, and update the openshift-monitoring prometheus instance with it's endpoint and any specific recording rules/alerts.

Including a partners storage platform within 'OCS' would require involvement and sign-off from RHT.
