Checking in a node makes a (slightly modified) copy of that node (and some or all of its descendants) in version storage. When the versioned copy is made, the modeint:multiValuedProperties property is not propagated over, so information about which properties are multi-valued may be lost. This problem will only manifest itself if a multi-value property is set to a single value.
