Working on MODE-1582, I've noticed that there is, in the 2.x branch, a test suite ShareableNodesTest which has not been ported to 3.x

After porting it to 3.x and changing the repository startup procedure, the test suite has 5 failures and 1 error.

We should investigate if these expose potential problems with the current shareable nodes implementation, or the tests themselves need updating
