Importing and/or exporting Unicode characters results in exceptions

      Exporting an XML file with accented characters makes the input invalid, resulting in errors when importing:

      Invalid byte 2 of 3-byte UTF-8 sequence.
javax.jcr.InvalidSerializedDataException: org.apache.xerces.impl.io.MalformedByteSequenceException: Invalid byte 2 of 3-byte UTF-8 sequence.
