Came up on scrum of scrums 6/14

Should we be cutting release branches actually at the beginning of feature development for a particular feature release, and auto-FF merging master -> release branch?

I'm forgetting a lot of the conversation around the motivation behind the auto-FF, shawnhurley I think you were advocating for this. Maybe you can add some context to this?
