In an effort to make DVM rock solid or fail fast, we'd like to add some kind of an automatic retry mechanism to the rsync transfer so if timeout issues become a problem, we're able to say: transfer 1GB of 10, fail, retry and go from 1-2GB, fail, retry and go from 2-3GB etc.

This retry count should be configurable.
