It would be desirable to assert version compatibility of the ClusterTasks to
address issues that can arise from upgrade/downgradability.
We want to make sure that the UI + ClusterTasks + CraneRunner images all line
up to remain compatible with one another, and if they aren't it should fail
fast and loudly.

Question: Do we think it's helpful/necessary to assert version compatibility to add some determinism and reliability behind upgrades and downgrades? How should this be implemented?
