Some enterprise customers might not require external connectivity to kafka at all. For those customers there should be a switch that disables the Kafka LBs/Ingress. This gives the customer a cost saving (fewer cloud LB charges, fewer nodes to run ingress) and better security posture. Other enterprise customers might value external connectivity (those doing hybird cloud, trad data centres etc) so it should probably be configurable.
Questions:
the ConsoleDot RHOSAK Console requires that the kafka instance present a admin api server, so presumably the MVP would require external connectivity to that?
the Strimzi Canary dials in via the LB, if Kafka LBs were optional alternative provision would have to be made.
