Basic AWS compute resource consumption analysis shows that we underutilize our available CPU resources of our AWS nodes. To reduce infrastructure costs of our dataplane, we would like to investigate whether we can use cheaper AWS node-types that offer the same amount of memory, but lower CPU resources.
We want to validate whether we can provide the same level of service, with the current service limits and SLOs, with r5.xlarge worker nodes.
