What
We will release Larger KI feature without Cruise Control https://issues.redhat.com/browse/MGDSTRM-7924. That will prevent using 2 SU KIs (based on 6 brokers) optimally when message partitioning distributes message unevenly among the brokers.
During the period between the release of the 2SU KIs and the release of Cruise Control, we need to inform the user that 2SU KIs have limitations. These limitations will be described in the RHOSAK Service Definition and pointed to from the RHOSAK UI and CLI.
This is a temporary notice that will be removed once we complete MGDSTRM-7924 (likely end of Q2).
Acceptance criteria
- Service definition updated with limitations of 2 SU kafka clusters in absence of cruise control
- Release notes indicates this feature is a tech preview
- Kafka UI has an indicator as tech preview (indicator only visible when 2SU is selected)
- CLI has a notice when 2 SU Kafkas are about to be created
