Container images must be configurable via environment variables in the manifest.

That way, ART (the build tooling) can patch the manifest with the right container images.

For the MarvellCPAgent image, this is currently injected at build-time. See https://github.com/openshift/dpu-operator/blob/31c986fefbd9e03d2bd7771a46b53ed4bdc112a5/taskfiles/images.yaml#L189

That is not suitable.

See also https://github.com/openshift/dpu-operator/pull/505 which adds the environment variable. It is still unused. It must be used.
