      Our documentation is missing the supported steps to use an FCP disk for etcd in IBM zVM.

      Below are the steps that we came across found to make the disk visible in the coreOS and make it persistent:

      ~~~
      $ modprobe -r zfcp
      $ modprobe zfcp allow_lun_scan=Y -v
      $ cat /sys/module/zfcp/parameters/allow_lun_scan
      $ lsmod | grep zfcp $ cat /proc/partitions
      $ vim /etc/zfcp.conf
      0.0.d123 0sx59fr0c0dwem emcem03489jfnr
      $ zfcp_cio_free
      $ zfcpconf.sh
      $ cat /proc/partitions
      ~~~

      Help required to run these steps in the supported way so that these changes do not go away during cluster upgrades.

      In addition to the etcd use case mentioned earlier, we are also encountering the same challenge to discover and persistently mount FCP disks for ODF as well, through a supported way. It would be helpful to include both of these challenges in the list.

      etcd salesforce case - 04230334

      ODF salesforce case - 04244185
