2.1 Federation Route Rejected host name validation errors

When I test the 2.1 Federation example, I am getting the following error in a federation route.
      Name: mesh1-system-federation-discovery-mesh2-ingress-525eca1d5089dbdc
      Status: Rejected
Message: host name validation errors: spec.host: Invalid value: "mesh1-system-federation-discovery-mesh2-ingress-525eca1d5089dbdc-mesh1-system.apps.yuaxu-maistra-daily.devcluster.openshift.com": must be no more than 63 characters

Most of our AWS clusters have a long hostname , e.g. .. mesh1-system.apps.yuaxu-maistra-daily.devcluster.openshift.com

Users may not be able create a federation route in an AWS cluster environment.

      How to reproduce:
      1. Install OSSM 2.1 daily build and create a 2.1 SMCP on AWS OCP4 cluster
      2. Following the steps in https://github.com/maistra/istio/blob/maistra-2.1/pkg/servicemesh/federation/example/config-poc/install.sh
      3. Check "mesh1-system" Routes and see federation route Rejected.
