The metrics for bytes collected and bytes logged are currently labelled with the log file name. This may be too high a cardinality for an effective prometheus metric.

Task:

• Investigate whether #containers is acceptable as cardinality for prometheus metric
• If yes: decide if raw file name or fluentd tag is the correct presentation, or design a more user-readable label.
• If no: determine a useful label or set of labels to apply.
• Implement the new labels (if necessary) for all per-log metrics
