DMN Editor Java Import not working

Classes defined in dependencies or within the project are not being found for Java import. With in the code editor, the intellisense does pick up the classes. But the DMN editor does not find the classes. I do have a class 'Activator" defined, with annotation @KieActivator. 

The DMN Editor seems to search, but nothing is found. 

I'm not sure what I can do next to troubleshoot this.
