The internal container builder module has support for Kaniko and (limited) for Buildah. Both can be an option on vanilla Kubernetes environments.
For OpenShift we can consider BuildConfig for limited scenarios. A limited scenario is a limited support for use cases with immutable workflow images (non-dev-mode). The recommended approach on OpenShift scenarios is described on KOGITO-9084, where users should have their own pipelines bound to the workflow CR.
