1. Proposed title of this feature request
Provide options to improve performance when opening DMN models without dmndi information
3. What is the nature and description of the request?
The customer is hitting severe performance issues with the DMN standalone editor when opening DMN files that have not been created with our tooling initially, thus lacking the dmndi information. Example:
Opening original file (without dmndi): 238 seconds
Opening the file after it has been opened with our tooling (dmndi present): 14 s
The request here is to provide one of the options to the customer to allow opening such files even without a performance hit:
- Provide java code to normalize the DMN server-side
- Provide an option to switch off the normalization in the viewer
4. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)
In the customer's environment, the DMN's are delivered by 400+ different users, opening the model in our tooling is not an option, as their users don't have access to the tooling.
5. How would the customer like to achieve this? (List the functional requirements here)
See options listed above.
6. For each functional requirement listed, specify how Red Hat and the customer can test to confirm the requirement is successfully implemented.
Opening one of the large DMN files provided in the support ticket in the DMN standalone editor and check the performance improvement.
10. List any affected packages or components.
