      Goal

Test and finalize the most suitable Kata Upstream version and its corresponding CoCo upstream version to be considered for Release 1.12 builds.

Note: As per our ongoing discussion with NVIDIA, Kata 3.24 has GPU support for SNP. TDX support expected only in March. RHEL 10.x QEMU has all the major fixes required for VFIO and memory overhead issues. So, we should prepare the build with these versions to test and identify any issues to be considered. Having the same versions considered for all features would bring consistency and therefore simplify our work.

NVIDIA has confirmed that all updates in Kata upstream have been implemented in both Go and Rust until March. So, we can consider Kata 3.24 Go version for our build and testing purposes.

      Why this matters

This alignment must be finalized early on in the release development lifecycle so that the release management team can prepare the build which the development and testing teams can use for build and test of the Release 1.12 features.

      Acceptance Criteria

Prepare the build package with Kata 3.24 Go, RHEL 10 qemu and corresponding versions of CoCo and Trustee for DEV and TEST teams to use the build for priority features such as CoCo on Bare Metal and CoCo with Confidential GPU on Bare Metal, in order to assess their suitability for Release 1.12
