It is not easy for a customer to find out whether an Operator is compatible with the JDG (image) version.

For this a statement was added to the [Operator Maintenance page](https://access.redhat.com/articles/6969317)  but the Release notes and Operator documentation should have the same information

"Starting on DG Operator 8.4.x (channel 8.4.x) the latest Operator can be used to run more than one DG cluster version.
Please refer to Data Grid Operator spec.version feature from 8.4 onwards."
