The Data & Operations team announces that the next CSB release of Jenkins 2.479.3 and its update center is now available on DNO.OCP-Hub OpenShift. There is an updated deadline specified by Product Security[4] to 2025-04-25.

To get your Jenkins instance upgraded, follow the upgrade guide[1] and the self-service upgrade procedure[2]. If you encounter problems upgrading, raise a ticket for Data & Operations[3].

Most notable changes in Jenkins CSB 2.479.3:

• Java 17 is required: Starting with this version of Jenkins 2.479, Java 11 is no longer supported. Java 17 is mandatory for running your agents.

• While JNLP + inbound agents were updated with Java 17 during the previous Jenkins upgrade (so no change is required if you’re only using these images), you might have other custom agents / VMs that would require your attention. More information in the release notes [1] and on Slack channel [5].
