      Consider looking at the asynchronous JDBC driver. The following have async drivers:

      • MySQL
      • PostGres

      No start()/end(), pass Xid by reference

      The investigation should also report on any other opportunities for performing asynchronous operations and to generate extra JIRAs depending upon the findings.
