When EAP 7.0.3 is configured with a database backing its ejb-timer service, the kie-server application (from the BPM 6.4 bundle) is unable to run processes that require timers as the result of transaction related errors (see attached transaction error).

It is possible to work around this transaction error by replacing the ejb deployment descriptor (see attached for an example); however, this leads to another layer of problems.

The modified ejb-jar.xml fixes the transaction errors; however, we are finding that bpmn processes using timers are unable to failover to other kie-server instances sharing the ejb-timer service database and bpm database.

Additionally, processes are duplicated on each node instead of synchronizing and only running on a single node.
