make parsing exceptions more consistent

      The static checking mechanism should be more consistent. Sometimes, a JpdlException is thrown, some other times the problem is added to a list and in some situations the list is unavailable to the calling code.

      We should either define clearly the kind of scenarios where an exception is thrown and make it clear with the 'throws' clause, or completely discard exceptions and instruct the user on how to retrieve possible errors. In the latter option, errors should not go unnoticed even if they are not handled properly.
