Ideally we want to be able to plug the form builder into Drools Guvnor at some future stage, but this is in need of some re-design to allow pluggable editors - so that's longer away. The builder will generate code for pluggable target environments; to start with, simple Java web application. In the long term it should be intended to be able to target mobile devices too, and also Flash
To start, a prototype builder is our goal. We want to pass the model through a generator to a target platform so you may model the "form" how you like, but whatever is modelled is only transient to the builder. the end result is a "compiled\generated" app that targets one platform first and then additional generators\compilers can be added
