An upgrade in <code>jsf-facelets</code> in JBoss EAP 5.1.2 introduced better integration with VFS but exposed a VFS bug that causes <code>jar:file:</code> URLs to cause a <literal>NullPointerException</literal> with <code>jboss.vfs.forceCanonical=true</code>. The root cause of this issue has been resolved and <code>jar:file:</code> URLs now work as expected.
