It's come up that some folks would like to have the BPEL Editor plug-ins available as a separate download on the JBT build results page. If we could simply provide a link to the location of the zip that gets sucked into the build, that would be helpful.

[JBIDE-6044] Include BPEL Editor on JBT Build Results Page

Given we now have an Eclipse.org version of BPEL, complete with Hudson builds and an update site ...

            http://eclipse.org/bpel/downloads.php and
            http://download.eclipse.org/technology/bpel/update-site/

... as well as the JBT version of BPEL ...

            http://download.jboss.org/jbosstools/builds/staging/jbosstools-3.2_stable_branch.component--bpel/
            http://download.jboss.org/jbosstools/builds/staging/jbosstools-3.2_trunk.component--bpel/

... and the JBDS Extras site ...

            http://devstudio.jboss.com/updates/4.0/staging/extras/

... can/should this issue be closed?

Note too that as of the latest Beta2 and CR1 builds, only the all-in-one and Hibernate update site zips are being published to jboss.org (or sf.net), so short of resurrecting the old buildResults pages (JBIDE-6958) for the nightly aggregate builds, there's nowhere else that BPEL will be (or in fact needs to be?) advertised in JBT.

            Closing. Reopen if you disagree.

            BPEL build @ eclipse.org is green: https://build.eclipse.org/hudson/job/tycho-bpel/

So, now the task is to merge changes in JBoss' SVN repo back to Eclipse.org's CVS repo.

Once you're ready to publish it and have it flow into JBT (perhaps in time for Beta1 codefreeze?), I can change the JBT main pom and aggregator pom so that BPEL is an external contribution.

Meanwhile I'll consider this issue in your hands (or feel free to close it) while I deal w/ JBIDE-6958 and JBIDE-7045.

OK, so eventually we'll be able to build BPEL @ eclipse.org, and have the JBT aggregate build simply pick up those bits along with pi4soa, xulrunner, drools, and teiid.

Therefore this issue is superseded by

            https://jira.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-6958
            https://jira.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-7045

and could arguably be closed wontfix or obsolete.

The plan is that the JBoss.org flavour will be discontinued because it tastes exactly like the Eclipse.org flavour

Seriously, we would like to push the entire BPEL editor plugin and deployment editor/model back upstream. The hope is that enough people in the community will take an interest in it and contribute to that project instead of JBoss having to devote a bunch of development resources to our own flavour.

Currently the two versions are nearly identical with the exception of the deployment framework, but Rob and Grid are working on that as we speak...

In other news... there's a BPEL editor (@ eclipse.org) build started here: https://build.eclipse.org/hudson/job/tycho-bpel/

How do we want to present the two versions? Is the goal to merge them? Or maybe put up a whole new domain for bpeleditor.com and have that let people decide if they want the Eclipse.org flavour or the JBoss.org flavour?

(Note that the arbitrary domain name suggested is available - I just checked.)
