Application wizard: Cannot use sub-project as "existing" project, I'm told it is dirty/uncommitted changes

2. EXEC: import server/contacts-mobile-picketlink-secured/ as maven project
3. ASSERT: git team provider is connected, EGit correctly decorates the new workspace project with [aerogear-push-quicksarts master]
4. EXEC: in Project Explorer: Pick Configure-> New/Import Openshift application
5. EXEC: in application wizard: pick Basic Cartridges/jbossas7
6. EXEC: correct name and get to next page

Result:

The application wizard complains that the project is dirty and thus cannot be used as project to merge the OpenShift application into.
