Hibernate Tools has 90% fewer tests in JBT 4.2 than in 4.1. Problem?

In JBT 4.1 [1], Hibernate Tools has 653 tests.
In JBT 4.2.0.Beta1 [2], Hibernate Tools has 63 tests (all passing).
In JBT 4.2.0.Beta1 (master branch), Hibernate Tools has 63 tests (with 2 failures) [3].

Where did all the tests go? This suggests a 90% reduction in test coverage.
