Issue description: There is already some info about buffer pool attributes in Configuration Guide in table "Table A.71. buffer-pool Attributes", but the description is really insufficient.
Suggestion for improvement:
Please add these facts and preferably move it to section '19.3. Configuring a Buffer Pool' in Configuration Guide:

• How can changing buffer-size value attribute affect performance or behavior of buffer pool?
• What is 'slice' in name of buffers-per-slice attributes and how it is used in buffer pool?
• What effect have enabling direct-buffers attribute? On which platforms are direct buffers supported? How is the fact, that given platform supports direct buffers determined?
