I don't intend to recreate / republish the content in both guides, so a simple link from the Performance Tuning Guide to the relevant part of the Messaging guide should suffice.

I'd like to do a general tidy-up of that part of the Messaging Guide part beforehand:

I notice that the formatting of section is inconsistent in places, and the bullets could be improved by having the first summary sentence on it's own line for readability.
