Section Using Maven with the Quickstarts of Getting Started Guide revision 8263514 and Development Guide revision 8263602 in chapter Developing Applications Using JBoss EAP reads the following:

Red Hat JBoss Developer Studio includes Maven, so there is no need to download and install it separately. It is recommended to use JBoss Developer Studio version 9.1 or later.

The current supported version of JBoss Developer Studio with EAP 7.1.0 is 10.1.
