Documentation - Messaging - chapter 4.4.4. Shared Store - one backup per live and other notes

XMLWordPrintable

      1) Only one backup per live is supported thus we should change:

by both the live and backup nodes. ...
Also, each participating server, live and backups ...
      how backup servers ...

      to:

by both the live and backup node. ...
Also, each participating server, live and backup ...
      how backup servers ...

      Then:

Be aware that if you restart a live server while after failover has occurred then check-for-live-server must be set to true. If not the live server will restart and serve the same messages that the backup has already handled causing duplicates.

      to:

Be aware that if you restart a live server after failover to backup has occurred then check-for-live-server must be set to true. If not then the live server will start at once without checking that its backup server is running. This will result in situation when live and backup are running at the same time causing that live will deliver duplicates to all newly connected clients.

      and:

You can also force the running live server to shutdown when the original live server comes back up, allowing the original live server to take over automatically, by setting allow-failback to true.
