Documentation - Messaging - Add chapter with configuration of Artemis resource adapter

XMLWordPrintable

      In chapter 4.7. Resource Adapters in Configuring Messaging Applications is described how to configure resource for Webspheremq 7.5 and generic JMS resource adapter (which is unsupported).

      What is missing is the configuration of resource adapter for Artemis which is default JMS provider in EAP 7 and from EAP 7 pov it's special and more important than others. I would like to keep configuration of Artemis resource adapter separated from other resource adapters.

      I suggest to rename chapter "4.7. Resource Adapters" to "Configuration of resource adapter for 3rd party messaging providers" - it will contain configuration of RA for WMQ 7.5, generic JMS RA and also for A-MQ 6 (once it's ready).

      Then add new chapter "Configuration of (Artemis) resource adapter" and describe its configuration. We should provide following information:

      • what's resource adapter and what's the purpose
      • there are inbound connections and outbound connections
      • how inbound and outbound connections are configured (all attributes should be described)
        • check pooled-connection-factory in CLI
      • describe all activation config properties for MDB (it's basically inbound connection configuration but some of the properties have a little different names)

      This wasn't documented for EAP 6 but for EAP 5 (with HornetQ) there is some doc: http://docs.jboss.org/hornetq/2.4.0.Final/docs/user-manual/html_single/index.html#d0e8242 - it's just about to get idea what resource adapter and inbound/outbound connection is.

      For the beginning I suggest to just describe attribute

      {pooled-connection-factory}

      and say that inbound and outbound connection configuration for Artemis resource adapter is configurable by this. We should provide full description of configuration options/attributes.
