It seems we no longer needs this artifact to be injected into maven repository zip. If I looked correctly into reasons why it was included to be able to build server from sources as well as to execute quickstarts that were using this JBoss version with adjusted behavior compared to regular upstream version.

The use of this plugin version was mandated by inheriting from jboss-parent version 39 and less.

This is no longer true for latest 8.1 quickstarts (transitively depends on jboss-parent 43) and also not true for sources of EAP and wildfly-core components (both depend on jboss-parent 47) - they now use standard upstream version of the maven-compiler-plugin
