Chapter 3. Updating JBoss EAP using the jboss-eap-installation-manager

3.2. Updating JBoss EAP offline using the jboss-eap-installation-manager

Users getting confused where the docs say:

      You have downloaded the jboss-eap-installation-manager.

We should add a note or reword things to explain that when you have an existing EAP installation, you can just run $JBOSS_HOME/bin/jboss-eap-installation-manager.sh , this is the installation manager.

The confusion comes from the fact that there are 2 starting points:

      • download EAP zip, unzip, update with $JBOSS_HOME/bin/jboss-eap-installation-manager.sh
      • download standalone EAP installation manager, run /path/to/installation-manager/bin/jboss-eap-installation-manager.sh , where in if you have an existing EAP installation, you can run the standalone installation manager or you can run the $JBOSS_HOME/bin/jboss-eap-installation-manager.sh
