My work on JBEAP-26314 involved two alternative PRs, https://github.com/jbossas/jboss-eap8/pull/298, which was merged for EAP 8.0.0.GA, and https://github.com/jbossas/jboss-eap8/pull/296, which was the same but added a relatively complex test of behavior when a post-GA update to EAP 8 updates the EAP channel to update the org.jboss.as.product.conf.jar artifact version.

The latter was not merged; to reduce the scope of changes running up to the release we opted to defer testing specific to post-GA update handling. This JIRA is to track adding that test.
