Start the installer Set language, accept license, set installation paths and choose components, create an admin user and eventually choose to install Quickstarts and Logging features (the latter is just to have another screen available when hitting Next in the Quickstarts Maven Repository screen). Hit the radio button for specifying a custom Maven repo URL or local file path, you can leave the below text box untouched Hit the radio button for specifying a custom settings.xml file path and make sure the the below text box value is set to a location that does not contain a settings.xml file Go to the next screen by hitting Next . A dialog should appear to ask the user whether a settings file should be created with some public JBoss profile data in it, but this doesn't happen, and the file is silently created.
