This was cruft from my feature branch where I included the SmallRye module offering context propagation for RxJava. However, as RxJava only has a global hook for doing extra "stuff" the SmallRye CP module for this interferes with what RestEasy is using.

This module (which is private btw) was just there to be able to use Flowable etc. until the problem above was discovered and automatic context propagation support for RxJava was aborted.
