Migration guide section 5.12. Migrate Clients to Use the WildFly Configuration File:

• The "properties file" example is specific to the EJB client, it should probably be mentioned somewhere - this is not for a generic client, also this property file is usually named jboss-ejb-client.properties which should be mentioned somewhere too.
• The wildfly-config.xml example claims to be the equivalent of the EJB client properties, but it only contains the authentication part, but not the EJB client part (the part which points the client to the correct server). • Please remove the set-mechanism-realm and providers elements from the XML example, these are not required for a simple use case like this and only make the example very long and more complicated/scary than necessary
