[7.1] Azure Guide: Clarify Cloud Access and Azure On-Demand OSs

    XMLWordPrintable

Details

    Description

Toby Drake raised this issue via email.

The following sentence in the EAP on Azure guide could be misleading:

You can create your own virtual machines or use one of the above On-Demand operating systems in Microsoft Azure. You can also combine your existing JBoss EAP subscription with one of the above On-Demand operating systems using the Red Hat Cloud Access program.

It is not clear that customers should be aware that:

      • The VM OS subscription entitlements are separate from using JBoss EAP in the Cloud Access program.
      • They should not register an Azure On-Demand RHEL VM from the Azure Marketplace to RHSM. This would mean that they will be double billed for that VM (once from using a Red Hat sub, and again through the MS billing). This means that customers cannot use the RPM method to install JBoss EAP on a RHEL Azure On-Demand image.
