The network configuration UI is required for boot.iso (Server, Fedora ELN) deliverable as there are no Live Environment tools for network configuration.

Based on scoping in INSTALLER=4218 and its outcome in the comment (Analysis document)

GOAL: create MVP of wired WebUI network configuration:

      • The functionality is basic (not the focus), one of or similar to
        • what Cockpit network module supports - doc
        • what Agama network configuration supports - doc
        • Gnome tool seems to be too advanced for MVP
      • Gets along well with network configuration tool in Live Environment (unlike current Gtk UI and network module)
      • Supports multiple connections (unlike current Gtk UI and network module)
      • Focus on backend:
        • Late / parallel UX expert input
        • the UI design will be simple, the real layout / UI design can be rather dependent on functionality, for example device/connection oriented
      • [Q] Placement of the UI?
        • on a separate network page enabled only on boot.iso?
        • or available from each page (multiple pages can depend / require network confguration in the future - for example software selection, storage)
        • may require UX expert review / input
      • [Q] Sharing with Cockpit UI
        • is for a separate spike, should not block the MVP and can be reconsidered based on progress / requirements

      Things worth considering (split-outs / follow-ups):

      • Support for adding a network device to webui tests (testing multiple devices)
      • Adding switches for
        • device/connection (de)activation
        • persisting connection to the system
        • ONBOOT configuration
