Main reason for having separate swap file is to have support of hibernation for the system. Otherwise Fedora switched to zram to remove swap requirements in the past.
The following discussion on a Slack channel resulted in support of this feature and implementing it in the future.
Notes from the discussion:
- Adjust `Disk encryption` to `Storage setup configuration`
- having customizations of some sort would be nice; perhaps we could group them all together: filetype (defaulting to btrfs), encryption, swap partition
- default to btrfs, unencrypted, no swap partition, but then someone could adjust to ext4, encrypt, add swap partition
