    • Hum Sprint 1

Project Hummingbird (formerly known as "RHEL Primitives") builds a collection of minimal, hardened, and secure container images, aiming to provide purpose-built containers with a significantly reduced attack surface. This strong focus on security combined with a highly automated update workflow results in containers with nearly zero CVEs.  For more details, please refer to the Hummingbird project on GitLab.

      Context of this testing effort

      • All Hummingbird containers are automatically tested.
      • We are seeking additional feedback to check that the images are fit for purpose (ideally real-world exposure) before reaching out to interested customers.
      • It is a one-time effort.
      • Detected issues will be fixed and/or documented accordingly (see https://issues.redhat.com/browse/HUM-98 as an example).

Interested in testing? What you can do

      • Self-assign one or more of the linked tasks below.
      • Check that the images work in production as you would expect, and provide feedback. If everything works, let us know. If something does not, let us know. You can drop a comment on the Jira task or reach to us on #forum-hummingbird on Slack.
      • If you find a bug, please open a bug in this Jira project.
      • An ideal scenario would be to use a Hummingbird image in an existing deployment.  Swap out the image from Docker Hub (or UBI, or Fedora) with a Hummingbird image.
      • You can find documentation on the Hummingbird project on GitLab and on Quay for each image.
