Context:

As team/code base/consumers... grow and we go GA we want to communicate clearly what / what not is included in each release cycle.

We might find value on having more granular categories to tag PRs that automatically are visible in release notes.
This should be done in hand and consistently with Jira which is the wider source of truth.

Examples: 

• Security (Network Policies, private clusters, compliance, encryption,...)
• HA/Reliability (CP HA, CP scale, …)
• Perf & Scale (CP + Workers)
• Operations (Monitoring/Logging/upgrades/…)
• Routing & Networking (Ingress to clusters, Ingress to CP, …)
• …

Discuss which categories would have value.
Explore automation paths. E.g what controller-runtime/capi does (bug, doc, minor, feature). E.g what kube does.
