The Testing Farm team plans to drop support for STI tests in Fedora since F40.

Based on the F40 schedule, I would say that we should make the change latest before F40 branching which will happen at the beginning of February 2024.

Goal:

• All Fedora repositories for image builder components use TMT test format for CI.
• Use the same TMT tests in Fedora, which we use in RHEL / CentOS Stream.

Acceptance Criteria:

• The following Fedora components use TMT test format for CI tests:
  • osbuild
  • osbuild-composer

Open questions:

• cockpit-composer does not contain any type of tests in Fedora dist-git. Should we add TMT tests (e.g. from CentOS Stream) to Fedora?

Notes:

• TMT tests for osbuild and osbuild-composer used in cXs and RHEL are already implemented in a way, which should make it very easy to use them also in Fedora out of the box.
• weldr-client Fedora repo already uses TMT test format.
